Nakapiripirit district is abuzz with activity as Minister of State for Gender, Labour & Social Development (Labour, Employment & Industrial Relations), Hon. Anyakun Esther, intensifies mobilization efforts ahead of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s visit on October 29, 2025.
The minister is rallying NRM supporters and the wider community to ensure a grand reception for the President.
Addressing the media on Monday in Nakapiripirit, Dr. Anyakun called on party leaders across the Karamoja sub-region to unite and amplify their mobilization drives in preparation for the President’s visits to all remaining districts.
She urged NRM members to maintain unwavering loyalty to the party, particularly those who were not successful in the recent primaries. The minister underscored that the NRM’s core values of unity, discipline, and teamwork should not be compromised by internal competition.
“We want to thank the government of NRM for supporting the people of Karamoja, we are in this together,” Minister Anyakun stated, appealing for strong teamwork and unity among leaders in Nakapiripirit.
She emphasized that such solidarity would guarantee an overwhelming victory for President Museveni and all NRM flag bearers in the upcoming general elections.
As the countdown to President Museveni’s visit continues, the people of Nakapiripirit district are preparing to “paint the district yellow,” the iconic color of the National Resistance Movement. Hon. Minister Anyakun has pledged to safeguard the party’s achievements and reinforce its dominance in the area, showcasing her dedication as a tested and trusted NRM cadre from Nakapiripirit and Karamoja at large.
The Hon. Minister confirmed President Museveni’s visit on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, where he is expected to address a campaign rally in Nakapiripirit. She highlighted numerous achievements of the NRM government in Karamoja, which she attributes to the party’s leadership.
These include the implementation of programs such as the Parish Development Model (PDM), Uganda Women Entrepreneurship Programme (UWEP), Youth Livelihood Programme (YLP), Emyooga, improved security and peace, Development Response to Displacement Impacts Project (DRDIP), and Karamoja Accelerated Infrastructure Investment Program (KAIIP).
Furthermore, Anyakun cited universal education initiatives like UPE and USE, the construction of primary and secondary schools, and health centers, as well as the establishment of a democratic environment where people can elect leaders of their choice, as key successes under the NRM regime in Karamoja.
Known for her hard work and down-to-earth approach, Minister Anyakun Esther is widely regarded as one of Karamoja Region’s industrious leaders and a significant NRM mobilizer, deeply committed to the welfare of her people.
