KOLE DISTRICT – The Territorial Police in Kole District, North Kyoga Region, have launched a full-scale investigation into the suspected murder of a 43-year-old peasant farmer whose body was discovered Wednesday morning lying in a swamp with serious head injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Obito Bonny, a resident of Oyitoleyi village, Akwirididi Ward, Boke Town Council.
The incident was reported by one Angiro Felix, 60, the LCI Chairperson of Okelo Cony Cell.
According to a statement issued by North Kyoga Regional Police Spokesperson SP Patrick Jimmy Okema, Obito Bonny left his home on November 12, 2025, at approximately 10:00 hours, stating he was going to Ojok’s place to consume alcohol. He never returned home that night.

A team comprised of the District Scene of Crime Officer (Soco) and a homicide squad swiftly visited and processed the scene. The body of the deceased was later transported to Lira Regional Referral Mortuary, where it awaits a comprehensive postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
SP Okema confirmed that the investigation is active, though no arrests have been made as of press time.
“We appeal to anyone who has information that can support the investigation to share it immediately with the police,” SP Okema stated, urging the public to assist in identifying those responsible for the crime.
Police are continuing to follow leads regarding Obito Bonny’s movements before his death, particularly the location where he was last seen drinking.
