LIRA CITY – December 4, 2025: Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero, a prominent political figure,and the minister of Health, has unveiled her comprehensive manifesto in Iwal ward, laying out her vision for Lira City as she gears up for the 2026 general elections. Campaigning for the position of Woman MP seat for Lira City (2026-2031), Dr. Aceng’s “agenda-driven campaign” focused on three key pillars: Infrastructure, Agriculture, and Economic Empowerment, promising tangible development to the electorate.
The unveiling in Iwal ward marks another significant step in Dr. Aceng’s proactive campaign strategy, which her team, “Team DJRAO,” highlighted as resonating well with the community. The candidate’s clear and actionable promises are reportedly garnering widespread enthusiasm among residents.
Under the critical pillar of Infrastructure, Dr. Aceng pledged to fast-track electricity connection to currently unserved areas, noting that this initiative is already underway. She committed to accelerating the tarmacking of murram roads through the USMID Project and promised to advocate vigorously for the extension of piped water networks into unserved communities across Lira City.
Addressing the agrarian backbone of the region, Dr. Aceng outlined her plans for Agriculture. Her manifesto includes providing more tractors to bolster mechanization efforts for larger farms and distributing handhoes to support small farmer groups. She also committed to expanding access to the Parish Development Model (PDM) and actively promoting the innovative 4-acre model to enhance productivity and food security.
On Economic Empowerment, the candidate emphasized supporting local enterprises and initiatives. Dr. Aceng vowed to promote the Emyooga program, provide financial grants to Youth’s and Women’s SACCOS, and fast-track the development of the Aler Industrial Park, envisioned as a hub for job creation and local economic growth.
