LIRA CITY — CALL TO ACTION: RESIDENTS URGED TO VOTE FOR SUSTAINED PROGRESS IN UPCOMING 2026 ELECTIONS.

Lira City , Uganda-December 30, 2025 : As the 15th January 2026 draws cooser, Lira city residents are being called upon to protect the gains and safeguard the progress achieved over recent years by casting their votes wisely in the upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary election
At the heart of this development is a call to re-elect of Hon. Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero, a vibrant leader widely credited with transforming service delivery, strengthening urban infrastructure, and championing inclusive development across Lira city.
“Lira City has come a long way, but our journey is far from over,” said one off the NRM supporters in Omito ward who spoke on condition of anonimity. A community leader called Okello during a recent interview with our reporter from Angwetangwet ward, Lira City East Division, said “We must keep our vision alive and our focus clear because Progress is not built in a day — it demands consistency, better leadership, and proven commitment. That’s exactly what Dr. Aceng has delivered so many achievements.”

Since taking office, Dr. Aceng — the minister of health and an health expert — has prioritized clean water access, waste management reform, road rehabilitation, and the expansion of digital services across Lira city. Her administration also led to the establishment of Sattelitelabaratory, supported women in business and improved education standard to best PLE performers and a ove all
“Dr. Aceng has shown what committed leadership can do — upgrading health centers, and ensuring our markets are cleaner and safer,” said a market vendor in Lira Main Market. “She listens. She delivers. That’s why I’ll be voting for her on January 15th January 2026.”m.
Under her leadership, Lira City was recognized among Uganda’s top-performing cities in the 2025 , praised for transparency, reduced maternal mortality rates among others.
“Your vote is not just a mark on a ballot,” reads a citywide campaign message. “It is a powerful voice for sustained transformation, improved services, and a stronger future for Lira City.”
The campaign, branded “Lira City Forward, emphasizes continuity and stability, warning against setbacks that could arise from leadership transitions lacking experience and a proven track record.
As election day draws near, the message is clear: Lira’s future hinges on consistent, visionary leadership. And for countless residents, that vision is embodied in Hon. Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero.
