Admissions Open for January 2026 Intake at Uganda Christian Institute and Lira School of Nursing and Midwifery.

LIRA, UGANDA – January 31, 2026:;The Uganda Christian Institute for Professional Development (UCIPD), in collaboration with the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Lira, has announced that admissions for the January 2026 intake are now officially open. The institutions are inviting qualified and aspiring individuals to apply for various academic programs in the fields of health sciences, professional studies, and allied disciplines.

In a joint statement released today, the leadership of both institutions emphasized their commitment to delivering high-quality, values-based education rooted in Christian principles. The ongoing admissions cover all courses currently offered, including Diploma and Certificate programs in Nursing, Midwifery, Clinical Medicine, Community Health, and other essential healthcare disciplines.

“Prospective students are encouraged to apply early to secure their places,” said Dr. Sarah Atim, Academic Director at UCIPD. “We are dedicated to training competent, compassionate, and ethical professionals who will make meaningful contributions to the health sector in Uganda and beyond.”

The School of Nursing and Midwifery, Lira, has long been recognized for its excellence in training frontline healthcare workers, particularly in Northern Uganda. Its partnership with UCIPD enhances access to holistic education that combines technical skills with moral and spiritual development.

The application process is currently underway and will remain open until further notice, though officials stress that early applications will be given priority in placement and processing. Applicants can obtain admission forms online via the institutions’ official website or in person at the admissions offices located in Lira City.

Requirements for admission vary by program but generally include a minimum of a Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with relevant passes, along with valid identification documents. Special consideration is given to mature learners and working professionals seeking career advancement.

Both institutions are accredited by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) and affiliated with relevant professional councils, ensuring that graduates meet national and international standards.
