
Maruzi County MP Elect Hon Peter Obong Acuda Awards Top-Performing PLE Candidates with Scholastic Materials.

Apac, Uganda – In a ceremony attended by hundreds of parents, guardians, and headteachers, Maruzi County MP elect, Hon. Peter Obong Acuda, awarded 30 best-performing 2025 PLE candidates with durable scholastic materials worth over 7 million shillings. The event took place on Saturday, February 7th, 2026, at Oloc cell, Aluga ward, Akokoro sub-county, Maruzi county, Apac district.
The 30 candidates, who all scored first grade, received mattresses and boxes in addition to other scholastic materials like books, pens , mathematical sets, rulers among others, bringing joy and jubilation to the community. The awarded schools included Abalokweri primary school, Ayomi, Ibuje primary school, Apoyi, Alwala primary school, Amun primary school, Anyapo primary school, Alaro, Onyany, and Aluga primary school, among others.

Obete Julious Peter, a relegious leader, urged the new MP elect and other councilors to differentiate between good and bad advice, commending Hon. Obong Acuda for his initiative. Jasper Bonny Opeto Acuda, who welcomed the parents and headteachers, expressed his gratitude for the donation, which brought the community together.
Tonny Ogwang, the LC1 of Oloc cell, encouraged the MP elect to work wholeheartedly and regularly visit his constituents. Mr. Okunyu Francis, the chairperson of Apac District headteachers association, applauded Hon. Obong Acuda for his donation and requested that he consider providing roofing materials for selected schools within Maruzi county and possibly sponsoring students to attend Vision High School for better performance.
Some of the headteachers who attended the ceremony included Eunice Atim of Aluga primary school, Wacha Patrick of Ibuje primary school, Okao Patrick of Alek Olil P/S, and Denis Ojuka, deputy headteacher of Olaro primary school.

Imat Betty Opeto, the councilor V representing Akokoro sub-county and Town councilin the APAC District council expressed her happiness towards the improved performance of the pupils and commended the teachers and parents for their efforts. LCV councilor only identified as Hon. Denis, who served as the official campaign agent of Hon. Obong Acuda, appreciated God for allowing the MP elect to support the education of the children.
In his address, Hon. Peter Obong Acuda, MP elect, congratulated the people of Maruzi for putting their trust in him as their representative. He also thanked his campaign team, including his mother and wife, Ketty Obong, for their support. As a qualified teacher by profession, Hon. Obong Acuda emphasized his commitment to education and promised to follow up on the candidates who received the scholastic materials to ensure they complete their education.
The award comprised 9 female and 21 male candidates who sat for their examinations from within Maruzi county. Notably, a blind boy who scored an impressive 13 aggregate was among the beneficiaries.
The ceremony ended on a high note, with the community expressing their gratitude to Hon. Obong Acuda for his generosity and commitment to supporting education in Maruzi county.
