
Light Vocational Secondary School In Lira City Shines With Historic 100% Pass in UCE 2025

LIRA CITY, UGANDA – February 13, 2026 – Light Vocational Secondary School in Lira City has once again demonstrated academic excellence, recording a 100 percent excellent results achieved in the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) 2025 results released by the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB).
The school, under the New Lower Secondary Competence-Based Curriculum (CBC), celebrated outstanding performance, with all 275 candidates achieving Result One equivalent to Division one. This milestone reinforces the institution’s growing reputation as a leader in quality education in the Lango sub-region and beyond.
Historic Performance Under New Curriculum:
Headteacher Jasper Ayoo Eric confirmed the results, expressing pride in the students’ hard work and the school’s collective effort.

“Our success is rooted in teamwork among teachers, unwavering support from parents, and faith in God,” Ayoo stated. “We encourage more parents to entrust their children to us, especially in Senior One and Senior Five, as we remain steadfast in our motto—‘Moving Forward.’”
An analysis of the results revealed:

85 candidates scored Grade ‘A’s
312 Grade Bs
1,726 Grade Cs
351 Grade Ds (across all subjects, per subject performance)
Notably, there were no failures (Divisions 2–9), zero absentees, and no withheld results, demonstrating the school’s consistency in academic discipline.
Science and Humanities Excellence
The best-performing subjects included:
Chemistry
Biology
Physics
Mathematics
English
Female and male candidates performed equally well, reflecting the school’s commitment to gender-balanced academic success.
Leadership and Gratitude:
Hon. Vincent Shedrick Obong Eyit, the Director of Light Vocational SS and Lira City West Division MP-elect, lauded the disciplined learners, dedicated teachers, and supportive parents for the outstanding results.


“This achievement is a testament to our structured learning environment and our teachers’ commitment to the competence-based curriculum,” Hon. Obong Eyit said.
