The Commander of the 3rd Infantry Division, Maj. Gen. Wilberforce Karate, has called for an urgent high-level meeting of all Teso sub-region leaders to plan for the upcoming Usalama kwa Wote victory celebrations.
The event, which covers Karamoja, Teso, and Sebei regions, is being organized in honour of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni following his recent electoral victory and the success of security operations in the East.
The preparatory meeting is scheduled for Sunday, April 26, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM at Soroti University.
Who is Invited?
Maj. Gen. Karate has extended the invitation to a wide range of stakeholders, including:
- Cabinet Ministers and NRM CEC Members.
- Members of Parliament (including those newly elected).
- Resident District Commissioners (RDCs) and their deputies.
- Security chiefs (Regional and District Police, Prisons, and ISO commanders).
- Local government leaders (LCV Chairpersons and Councillors).
- Chief Administrative Officers (CAOs) and NRM District Chairpersons.
- The business community and the media.
The Usalama kwa Wote (Peace for All) initiative has been a cornerstone of the government’s efforts to stabilize the cattle corridor and North Eastern Uganda.
Organisers, led by Soroti City RCC John Mike Okurut and Amuria RDC Paul Eseru, have urged all invited officials to attend in person and observe punctuality to ensure a successful celebration for the Fountain of Honour.
