KAMPALA,UGANDA. The MP-elect for Kole North County, Dr Samuel Opio Acuti, is scheduled to officially join the 12th Parliament this Friday.
According to a schedule confirmed by our reporter, Dr Opio Acuti will take the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of Member of Parliament on May 15, 2026, at 12:30pm.
The ceremony marks the formal start of a five-year term (2026-2031) for the legislator, who secured a fresh mandate to represent the constituency in the recently concluded general elections.
Speaking ahead of the event, Dr Acuti expressed gratitude and hapliness for what he termed a “the trust” bestowed upon him by the voters.
“It is by God’s grace that that tge people of Kole trusted me. All glory belongs to Him,” Dr Acuti said, adding that he will receive the mandate with “humility, honour, and a deep sense of duty.”
The MP-elect, who has been a vocal advocate for healthcare. fighting corruption and peomoting wealth creation, pledged to run an inclusive office that transcends political and social divides.
“This victory belongs to the people of Kole North. My office will work for everyone—men and women, youth and elders, farmers and traders. No one will be left behind,” he said.
Dr Acuti further called for a collaborative approach to leadership, urging his constituents to provide counsel and partnership as he begins his tenure.
“The work of building a united and prosperous Kole for all begins now as we want accountability ans.a corruption free Kole for all government programs,” he added.
His swearing-in comes as 11 Parliament concludes and 12th parliament prepares for the election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker soon.
