ARDC Komakech and NRM Supporters celebrating Museveni’s New Term.

As President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni took his oath of office at Kololo yesterday, jubilant NRM supporters in Obongi District joined the rest of the nation in localized celebrations to mark the start of the 2026–2031 term.
The celebration was spearheaded by the Assistant Resident District Commissioner (ARDC), Mr. Robert Obina Komakech, who represented the Obongi RDC, Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka. He was joined by Hon. Scovia Alitiru and the NRM Administrative Secretary, Mr. Gabriel Aliga.
Addressing the gathering, ARDC Komakech lauded the NRM government’s track record in the Nile sub-region, citing visible strides in infrastructure, education, and health services. He noted that the prevailing peace and security in the border district have been the bedrock of socio-economic transformation.
“The victory we celebrate today is a vote for stability and the continued transformation of our people,” Komakech stated, urging residents to embrace government programs aimed at poverty alleviation.
Outlining the manifesto priorities for the next five years, the ARDC emphasized that the new term will focus heavily on wealth creation, youth empowerment, and national unity. He assured the people of Obongi that the government remains committed to bridging service delivery gaps and fostering sustainable development.

The event, characterized by song and dance and powerful speech that mirrored similar celebrations held across the country as the NRM prepares to implement its slogan of “protecting the gain”
