Agago County MP Hon. Otto Edward Makmot has intensified the fight against Ebola with a fresh public awareness campaign urging communities to stay informed and act fast to stop the spread of the deadly virus.
Speaking under slogan “Stay Informed. Stay Safe. Together We Can Stop Ebola,” MP Otto Makmot rolled out key health messages targeting families across Agago and beyond for the 2026-2031 term.
What You Need to Know:
Ebola is a severe, often fatal illness that affects humans and primates. Health officials warn it spreads through direct contact with body fluids of an infected person.
Watch Out These Symptoms:
- Fever
- Headache
- Muscle pain
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Unexplained bleeding
Hon. Makmot’s campaign highlights five golden rules to protect yourself and others:
- Wash your hands regularly with soap and clean water.
- Avoid direct contact with body fluids of sick persons.
- Cook all animal products well before eating.
- Avoid contact with wild animals and dead bodies.
- Go to the nearest health facility immediately if you feel unwell.
Accorsing to MP Makmot, residents are urged to report any suspected case to their local health facility immediately.
This message reinforces the government’s commitment to public health.
“Ebola does not wait. When we act together, we stop it together,” Hon. Makmot said.
