Amuria District Holds Coordination Meeting Ahead of Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign

Amuria–Amuria District Local Government has held a coordination meeting ahead of the National Measles-Rubella Immunisation Campaign.
The meeting was held at the district headquarters and was chaired by the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Mr Paul Eseru.
It was attended by the District Chairperson LCV, Hon. Isaac Omiat, the Deputy DISO, Ms Precious Asiimwe, the District Health Officer (DHO) and his technical staff, as well as representatives from World Vision and Orwadai Child Protection Centre (CPC).
According to RDC Eseru, the meeting focused on preparedness, implementation plans and community sensitisation for the upcoming vaccination exercise.
The mass Measles-Rubella vaccination campaign will run from October 1 to 5, 2026. The exercise will target children aged 9 months to 5 years.
The RDC, Mr Eseru, urged parents and guardians to embrace the campaign to protect children against Measles and Rubella.
