Leaders agree on tough measures, isolation centres in all health facilities.

Alebtong District has inaugurated its Ebola Task Force and held a stakeholders meeting to strengthen the fight against the growing Ebola threat in the country.
The meeting, chaired on Tuesday, brought together district leaders and partners to agree on urgent steps in line with guidance from the National Task Force.

The task force resolved to intensify communication, coordination, and consultation on the epidemic to ensure communities get timely and accurate information.
Members also agreed to formally write to all public facilities directing strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
In addition, the district will ensure that isolation centres are set up in all health facilities to handle suspected cases promptly. The meeting was attended by the District Chairperson LC5, the Assistant Resident District Commissioner, the Chief Administrative Officer, the District Internal Security Officer, implementing partners, and heads of department.
District leaders said the task force will meet regularly to assess the situation and coordinate response activities across Alebtong.
Residents were urged by RDC Okiswa to remain vigilant, wash hands regularly, avoid handshakes, and report any suspected Ebola cases to health workers immediately.
