Entebbe, Uganda: The Office of the Won Nyaci me Lango has presented an official portrait of the Lango Paramount Chief to the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority.
The delegation, led by Head of Protocol Mr. Edwin Odur Luru, Ms. Christine Akello and Ms. Jacquelyn Kia, handed over the portrait of Eng. Dr. Michael Odongo Okune on Tuesday. This followed a UCAA request to display the portrait at the airport.

UCAA officials Mr. Kalenge Bashir, Dr. Yusuf Omodo and Mr. Vianney Mounga Luggya received the delegation and thanked the cultural institution for the prompt response.
“We appreciate the continued support from the Won Nyaci me Lango and leaders of Lango. We are committed to strengthening collaboration with the people of Lango,” the UCAA team said.
Push for second domestic airport
UCAA requested continued backing for a proposed new airport to serve Lango Sub-region.

Officials said the facility would be Uganda’s second domestic passenger airport, complementing Kidepo Airport for tourists and Kabalega Airport for cargo.
“The airport will create jobs, improve transport, boost business and drive socio-economic development in Lango,” UCAA noted.
The Lango delegation conveyed the Won Nyaci’s appreciation and goodwill, reaffirming the cultural institution’s commitment to development initiatives that improve livelihoods in the region.
