Obongi,Uganda-June 19, 2026: Nine groups of Persons with Disabilities and three groups of older persons in Obongi District have received Shs56m under the National Special Grant.
Assistant RDC Komakech Robert Obina launched the disbursement on behalf of the RDC.
PWD groups got Shs41.12m while older persons’ groups received Shs14.88m.
Use funds as planned:
Komakech urged beneficiaries to use the money strictly according to approved work plans to improve livelihoods and generate sustainable income.He cited other government interventions aimed at empowering vulnerable groups and boosting household incomes.
“Ensure accountability, transparency and proper management of public funds so that beneficiaries achieve real socio-economic transformation,” Komakech said.
The function was attended by the District Vice Chairperson, District Speaker, members of the District Executive Committee, Assistant CAO, District Community Development Officer, OWC Coordinator, DISO and other leaders.
