The state minister for Disability under Gender Labour, and social Development, Hon Acan Joyce Okeny, joined fellow cabinet Ministers in touring Hoima city growth.

Hoima,Uganda- June 19, 2026: Cabinet ministers including Minister of state for Disability under Gender, Labour and Social Development Hon Acan Joyce Okeny, has toured Uganda’s fastest growing economic hub in Hoima City to assess development progress.

The tour was led by Her Exellency the Vice President Jesca Alupo Epel and The Rt. Hon. Prime minister, Robina Nabanja. mainly focused on infrastructure, oil and gas projects, and investment opportunities driving Hoima’s rapid growth.
Ministers inspected key projects including the Kabalega Industrial Park, Hoima International Airport, and oil roads linking the Albertine region to other partsof the country .

Minister Acan said she was impressed by tge level of development in Hoima. “Hoima is becoming a model city. Government investment in oil, infrastructure and agriculture is transforming the region,” said Minister Acan.
Hon Acan and her fellow cabinet ministers also met local leaders and some Hoina community members to discuss challenges and service delivery.

MP Hon. Acan Joyce Okeny has toured Hoima City Stadium and the Kingfisher Oil Field in Kikuube as part of a week-long assessment of the Albertine region.
The tour of cabinet ministers came as Hoima positions itself as Uganda’s fastest growing economic hub ahead of first oil.
Hoima City Stadium is being constructed to host national and international events.
The visit is part of ongoing oversight by leaders to monitor infrastructure, local content and community development in the oil region. All Cabinet Ministers were in the field.
