Amuru, Uganda-June 23, 2026: Amuru Resident District Commissioner Geoffrey Orsbon Oceng has ordered the arrest of eight people over alleged fraud in the government livestock restocking programme.
Suspects named
Those to be arrested include Parubanga Parish Chief Geoffrey Akena, Abera LC1 Chairperson Okema David, and Pabbo Sub-county NRM Chairperson Atube Bosco.
Others are Rubangakene Felix, Ange Kalina, Ojok Godfrey, Aber Miriam, and Obita Joseph.

Oceng said the suspects allegedly benefited irregularly from money meant for vulnerable households under the restocking programme.

“The Parish Chief and his accomplices diverted funds meant to uplift the poor,” the RDC said.
Police have been directed to arrest the suspects immediately. Investigations are ongoing.
