Kampala,Uganda- July 1, 2026: Agago County MP Hon. Edward Otto Makmot has been elected Vice Chairperson of the Acholi Parliamentary Group [APG], hence joining the top APG leadership.
The elections were chaired by Hon. Peter Okot. Twenty members attended physically, 4 joined virtually, and 6 were absent with apology.
New APG executive:
- Chairperson: Hon. Catherine Lamwaka, Omoro District Woman MP
- Vice Chairperson: Hon. Edward Otto Makmot, Agago County MP.
- General Secretary: Hon. Denis Geoffrey Opio
- Treasurer: Hon. Nancy Acora, the Woman MP of Lamwo District.
- Secretary for Publicity and Mobilisation: Hon. Andrew Ojok Oulanyah who also serves as Omoro County MP.
The Acholi Parliamentary Group brings together MPs from the Acholi Sub-region to coordinate on regional issues in Parliament.

Agago County MP Hon. Edward Otto Makmot has been elected Vice Chairperson of the Acholi Parliamentary Group. Omoro Woman MP Hon. Catherine Lamwaka is Chairperson. The new APG executive also has Hon. Denis Geoffrey Opio as General Secretary, Hon. Nancy Acora as Treasurer, and Hon. Andrew Ojok Oulanyah as Publicity Secretary.
