Alebtong RDC Okiswa assures of tight security ahead of LC1 polls.

ALEBTONG, UGANDA–Alebtong Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Okiswa Geoffrey, has assured residents that security is in place ahead of the Local Council 1 elections scheduled for Tuesday, July 28, 2026.
Speaking to the media on Monday evening RDC Okiswa said the Police Force has been briefed and is ready to lead sister forces of the UPDF and Prisons to secure all polling areas.
“We are ready for the LC1 elections tomorrow 28th. The Police Force has been well briefed, organized and prepared to lead the sister forces of UPDF and Prisons to secure all the 276 villages of the 69 parishes in the 14 Lower Local Government,” he said.
Call for peaceful voting:
The RDC urged all verified voters to turn up peacefully and elect leaders of good character.
“We call upon all the verified voters to peacefully turn up to vote for their preferred candidates,” he said.
He reminded voters to choose leaders committed to socioeconomic transformation through government programs.
“Elect leaders who are hardworking and focused on PDM, Emyooga and livestock restocking,” Mr Okiswa added.
District prepared
District officials said all election materials had been delivered to the sub-counties and polling officials trained.
The Electoral Commission is expected to conduct both LC1 elections in all villages across the country on Tuesday.
