Apac NRM Chairperson Okabo Talib rallies support For NRM LC1 Flag bearers, predicts 85% victory in LC1 polls.

APAC, UGANDA–Apac District NRM Chairperson, Mr. Talib Okabo, has called on voters across the district to overwhelmingly support NRM flag bearers in the forthcoming LC1 elections, expressing confidence that the party will secure over 85 percent of the votes.
Addressing the media on Wwdnesday evening, Okabo attributed the projected victory to the NRM government’s tangible achievements in Apac Municipality, Maruzi North and Maruzi County, including improved road networks, PDM, Emyooga, UWEP and restocking programs.
“NRM has delivered. That is why Apac people are ready to vote for NRM leaders at the grassroots,” Okabo said.
He urged party members to remain united and work together until polling day, saying discipline and coordination are key to maintaining NRM’s dominance at the village level.
Okabo also warned members to be vigilant during mobilization. He cautioned that some individuals claiming to support the party may not be eligible to vote because they failed to register for LC1 elections and their names are missing from the Electoral Commission register.
The Chairperson appealed for an end to political hatred and internal divisions, saying disagreements weaken the party and slow down development. He encouraged supporters to rally behind candidates fronted through official party structures.
Okabo called for maximum participation, saying every member has a role to play in delivering victory for NRM flag bearers.
The NRM is scheduled to hold nationwide village barazas on Wednesday, 22nd July 2026, as the final grassroots mobilization and reconciliation drive ahead of the elections. The exercise aims to strengthen unity, resolve internal differences, discourage independents, and ensure all the villages have verified NRM flag bearers.
According to the Electoral Commission, LC1 chairperson elections will be held on 28th July 2026 by lining up.
