Minister Akori, MP Lugwar Donate 150 Iron Sheets to windstorm-hit Wipolo P/S in Agago District.

AGAGO – The Minister of State for Economic Monitoring, Hon. Beatrice Akello Akori, who is also the Woman Member of Parliament for Agago District, together with the MP for Agago North County, Hon. Lugwa Benson, have donated 150 iron sheets to Wii Polo Primary School in Paimol Sub-county.
The donation follows reports that strong winds blew off classroom roofs at the school, disrupting learning and exposing pupils and school property to harsh weather.
Handing over the iron sheets on September 23, the leaders said the intervention was aimed at restoring a safe learning environment for the pupils.
“We are committed to supporting education in Agago. Access to education must remain a priority even as our families face hunger and other economic challenges,” Hon. Akori said.
The leaders urged parents and guardians not to withdraw their children from school because of the current hardships.
“Do not take your children out of school because of hunger. Education is a long-term investment in the future of your families and the community,” Hon. Lugwa said.
They assured the school management and the community of continued support to improve learning conditions at Wii Polo Primary School.
The two MPs also commended the community for its patience and resilience following the destruction of the school infrastructure and called for closer collaboration between parents, community leaders, school authorities and elected leaders.
According to minister Akori Beatrice Akello, the donation is part of a broader commitment to strengthening education and supporting communities in Agago during difficult times.
They emphasised that despite the prevailing challenges, the future of Agago depends on keeping children in school.
