HON. BEATRICE AKELLO AKORI RALLIES UGANDANS FOR NATIONAL CLEANING DAY TOMORROW — 26TH SEPTEMBER 2026.

AGAGO-UGANDA–The Minister for Northern Uganda, Hon. Beatrice Akello Akori, who doubles as the Woman Member of Parliament for Agago District, has issued a heartfelt appeal to all Ugandans to participate in the National Cleaning Exercise scheduled for Saturday 26th September 2026.
The initiative aims not only to beautify the nation but also to instill a sense of collective responsibility among citizens.
Minister Akori emphasized the importance of unity in this endeavor, stating:
“Our environment reflects our values. By coming together to keep our country clean, we demonstrate solidarity, Patriotism and pride in our heritage.”
She urged health workers, business community, boda boda riders, UTODA, school pupils, students and market vendors, individuals and communities to support one another, highlighting that a cleaner Uganda begins with each citizen’s commitment to action.
The event is expected to mobilize thousands across various regions, encouraging participants to engage in activities such as cleaning marketplaces, schools, health centres, litter collection, tree planting, and community beautification projects.
Local authorities have been advised to ensure that communities unite and clean up together in an effort to ensure that everyone participates in the national cleaning exercise.
As the sun rises tomorrow, let it mark not just a day of cleaning, but a renewed commitment to preserving the beauty of Uganda for generations to come.
