KOLE, UGANDA – Honourable Judith Alyek, the independent Member of Parliament for Kole North constituency, has expressed unwavering confidence in securing re-election in the 2026 general polls, proudly secured by a significant endorsement from several local Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) leaders.
Her optimism solidified after a meeting with the UPC party leadership in Okwerodot sub county on Sunday, where they pledged their full support for her campaign ahead of January 15th, 2025⁰.
Speaking to journalists after fthe crucial meeting with the UPC members, Hon. Alyek articulated her primary objectives for the constituency should she be voted into office. “My first priority is to speed up development and improve the quality of education and wealth creation in Kole North County,” she stated firmly. “That is why I came back to compete for this position. I saw that our community was being left behind, and I am determined to change that.”

The Independent MP extended her gratitude to the UPC leaders, highlighting the importance of collaboration across political divides for community advancement. “I am ready to win the election come the 15th January, 2026, and I am prepared to serve the people of Kole North constituency with even more dedication in the next term,” she affirmed.
Tonny Odyek, a prominent UPC leader in Okwerodot sub- county elaborated on the party’s decision to back an independent candidate. “As UPC leaders, we are joining forces with her team,” Odyek declared. “We will work hard to tell people in our community to vote for Hon.MP Judith Alyek.” He emphasized that despite her independent status, the party believes she is the most capable individual to represent Kole North in the 12th parliament of Uganda.
The endorsement meeting saw Hon. Alyek and her campaign team formally receive the UPC delegation’s pledge of support. This cross-party backing from the UPC, in addition to reported support from the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party, positions MP Alyek with considerable momentum as the 2026 elections draw closer.When contacted on phone ,Hon.
