2026 Kwania Decides: MP Kenny Auma Condemns Politics of Hatred, Mediocracy and Violence as Campaign Intensifies.

KWANIA , UGANDA-December 3, 2025 :Kwania District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Kenny Auma Lapat has challenged politicians in Kwania to desist from playing politics of hatred, trading propaganda and impedling violence as Parliamentary and Local Government Campaign trail takes shape.
Parliamentary and Local Government Campaign kick-started on November 10, 2025 and will end on December 14, 2025 ahead of the January 15, 2025 polls, according to the Independent Electoral Commission-I.E.C Guidelines.
Addressing a rally at Atirayon trading center, Agolowelo Parish in Atongtidi Sub County on Wednesday MP Auma, UPC startwal who is seeking her second term in Parliament, revealed that most politicians have resorted to trading propaganda, spreading hatred, inciting supporters to impede violence, smimply to attract sympathy from the electorates.
The legislator described the practice as cheap politics and cowardness, noting that it is contrary to the country’s democratic values.
“In 2016 I ran for Apac District Woman MP race but I lost to Betty Engola of NRM. Although I lost the election, I remained on ground and continued offering support to the community. Although, some of the politicians who contested against me in 2021 general election lost the election, they decided to disappear and vanish in thin air. I can now see them bouncing back with malicious propaganda, hated and impeded violence. That will not work. I am here to win with a landslide victory,”she said.
MP Auma pledged to push for power extension in the mushrooming trading centers under Rural Electrification Program, construction of a new health facility in Agolowelo Parish, establishment of a vocational center and extension of safe water projects to address the acute water crisis in the area.
“I know you need electricity at Atirayon trading center, Agolowelo trading center, Ajali, Adagani, Ogwang-Ogwang and other mushrooming trading centers. I will push for that as soon as I get back to the 11th Parliament,”she added, rallying Kwania voters to elect competent leaders irrespective of political affiliations.
Harriet Ajalo Omara, UPC flag bearer who is facing three giant men for Kwania Constituency MP race pleaded with Kwania electorates to use their mandate and vote for fundamental change.
“Kwania Constituency, from the inception has suffered in the hands of incumbent. With impassable roads, no medicine at government hospitals, no first grades in our schools, not even a broken computer in any government school despite having the Chairman Parliamentary Committee of ICT in the 10th Parliament. I encourage you to vote for a change and the change is Ajalo,”she said.
Adding that, “I will focus on supporting and employing the farmer’s groups. Government should regulate prices of our locally produced goods. The middle men who comes from Kenya and all over is cheating our people and that will be put to an end when I get to Parliament,”.
Patrick Ogwang Obia, who is facing NRM candidate George KK Akaca in a battle for Kwania District LCV’s Seat, pledged to maintain and open more new roads, upgrade health centers and ensure the district is peaceful once elected the District Chairperson.
“Chawente has suffered with poor road network for long. Born from Alido Parish in Chawente Sub County. Here I come in peace as a son of the soil to address your plea. I plead with you to kindly rally behind me with full support. I will be your answer to the poor roads, health, eduction and address the cancered and syndicate corruption at the district.”he said.
During MP Kenny Auma’s Wednesday campaign rally at Atirayon trading center, Agolowelo Parish in Atongtidi Sub County, more than 70 staunch supporters of the National Resistance Movement-NRM ruling party crossed to Uganda Peoples Congress-UPC.
The defectors were received by Kwania District Woman Member of Parliament Hon. Kenny Auma.
The defectors say they decided to cross to UPC after following closely the development initiatives initiated by MP Kenny Auma, pledging to rally behind MP Auma and all UPC flag bearers to ensure the party wins massively in the forthcoming general election.
On Wednesday, MP Kenny Auma accompanied by Harriet Ajalo Omara, UPC flag bearer for Kwania Constituency MP race, Patrick Ogwang Obia, UPC flag bearer for Kwania District LCV Chairperson’s Seat and other UPC candidates took the campaign trail to Agolowelo Parish in Atongtidi Sub County.
The UPC cadres begun the peaceful campaign rally from Atirayon trading center in Adwong-Owiri Village, headed to Agolowelo Primary School and finally ended at Adagani PAG Polling Station.
