Obongi Parish Priest Predicts President Museveni’s Re‑Election Come 2026 general elections.

OBONGI, UGANDA – December 9, 2025: In a sermon delivered during Sunday mass at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Parish in Obongi, Rev. Fr. Andama David proclaimed that “H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will definitely win the presidential election scheduled for 15 th, January 2026.” The priest cited the incumbent’s record on “peace, freedom and numerous developments” as the basis for his confidence.

“President Museveni has been a good and exemplary leader for Uganda,” Fr. Andama told the congregation. “His commitment to peace and development gives me certainty that he will be re‑elected.”

He also used the occasion to rebuke politicians who, in his view, “divide people on religious and tribal grounds,” urging Ugandans to focus on “government‑funded programmes that lift us out of poverty.”
The statement comes as Uganda’s political climate intensifies ahead of the January poll, which will be the country’s ninth Presidential election since independence. President Museveni, has ruled since 1986, winning consecutive terms and doing better interm of service delivery so far compared to other past presidents since independence according to a 69 year old Mzee who spoke on condition of anonimity from Obongi District. His current term, which began in 2021, has been marked by infrastructure projects, an expansion of digital services, and a wealth creation projects such as PDM, Emyoga among others.

The Electoral Commission has confirmed that voting will take place on 15th,  January 2026.

“President Museveni remains committed to serving all Ugandans. We encourage citizens to engage in the democratic process and to focus on the development agenda that benefits the nation.”
