Police Investigate Fatal Stabbing in Kamdini, Suspect Arrested
Kamdini, Oyam District – The Territorial Police in the North Kyoga Region have launched an investigation into a brutal murder that occurred in Kamdini Town Council, Oyam District, in the early hours of 15th December 2025.
According to police reports, the incident took place at approximately 02:00 hours in Abanya A Cell, Eastern Ward, Kamdini Town Council. The victim, identified as Majid Bonny Ramathan, a 50-year-old driver and resident of Adjumani District, was discovered lifeless at Nairobi Bar and Hotel along the Kamdini-Gulu Road with a deep stab wound on the right side of his chest.
Case Reported After Earlier Disappearance
The case was reported to police by Ali Ssemuju, a 40-year-old driver from Juba, South Sudan, who had earlier raised concerns about Ramathan’s disappearance under SD Reference 39/15/12/2025. Police had already begun inquiries when Ramathan’s body was found.
Key Witness Points to Suspect
Arebo Esther, a 28-year-old bar attendant at the establishment, disclosed to authorities that the deceased was stabbed by her former boyfriend, Abila Denis, alias Adupa Bonny, a 35-year-old boda boda rider and resident of Abanya B Cell. Denis was later traced and arrested in connection with the murder.
Police Secure Crime Scene, Postmortem Pending
A team of detectives and uniformed personnel, led by the Officer in Charge of Kamdini Town Council Police Station, visited the scene. The Scene of Crime Officer documented evidence, with support from the District CID team.
The victim’s body was taken to Anyeke Health Centre IV Mortuary for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Two suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue.
Ongoing Investigations
Authorities are working to record additional witness statements and retrieve the postmortem report before further updates are released to the public.
SP PJ Okema, the Public Relations Officer for North Kyoga Region, assured the public that the case is being handled with urgency and appealed for calm as the legal process unfolds.
