The high-profile arrest comes amid ongoing anti-corruption efforts in the region and has sparked relief among local residents, who have praised authorities for their decisive action.
The investigation into Drale, led by the Inspectorate of Government, followed complaints from multiple citizens alleging corruption and misuse of public funds. The probe, referenced under case number CRB/1632/AD/2025, culminated in his detention reportedly he is likely to spend the Christmas holiday season in custody.
Drale, who also serves as the National Resistance Movement (NRM) district vice chairperson, is currently an independent candidate for a district councillor position in Palorinya Sub-county.
