OYAM, UGANDA – 22, December, 2025: The parliamentary campaign trail in Omach and Okomo parishes of Ngai Sub-county, Oyam district, took a vibrant turn as Jane Frances Acilo, the aspiring Woman Member of Parliament for Oyam District, electrified a packed crowd with a bold pledge to champion development and bring tangible change to the region.
In a spirited rally attended by hundreds of supporters including , elders, youth, and women from across the sub-county, Acilo delivered a message of unity, progress, and hope. Standing before a sea of red and yellow campaign regalia, she vowed to leverage her influence and networks to attract development partners and resources directly to Oyam.

“I have the power and ability to connect Oyam with development partners and agencies,” Acilo declared to thunderous applause. “Together, we shall bring resources that will transform lives not only in Oyam but across Uganda. This is not just a campaign — it’s a movement for change.”
In just seven months since launching her political journey, Acilo has generated remarkable momentum, earning widespread admiration for her hands-on approach and visible initiatives. Residents have taken note of her achievements, comparing her rapid progress favorably to that of long-serving officials.

“She doesn’t just talk — she acts,” said Grace Aciro, a mother of four from Okomo parish. “While others made promises for years, Jane has already brought boreholes, supported girl-child education, and linked our farmers to markets. She listens and delivers.”
Appealing directly to the electorate, Acilo called on women, men, and youth to unite behind her vision. “Vote for a leader who is dedicated, who walks with you, who fights for you,” she urged. “If given the chance, I will ensure Oyam rises — not tomorrow, but today.”
The rally was underscored by powerful endorsements from community leaders. An elder from Omach parish described Acilo’s emergence as “a very big miracle and opportunity for the long-awaited development in Oyam District.”
Echoing that sentiment, a youth leader identified only as Okello said, “She is the bridge to the development we have long dreamed of. Roads, jobs, education — she sees us. Oyam finally has hope.”
Supporters chanted slogans such as “Nyayo Lonyo Icing Otedero!” and “Acilo for Woman MP, Oyam District!” — affirmations of the growing confidence in her leadership.
Observers say Acilo’s campaign stands out not just for its energy but for its message of transformation rooted in accountability and action. Her ability to attract partnerships with NGOs and government agencies in a short span has positioned her as a symbol of fresh, results-driven leadership.
As 2026 elwction heats up, Acilo remains focused on grassroots mobilization, promising that her door will always remain open to the people she seeks to represent.
“This is more than politics,” she said, closing her speech. “It’s a promise — to uplift, to empower, and to deliver. The change Oyam needs is within reach. Let’s walk into it together.”
