The ongoing investigation has triggered widespread public anxiety and anger to the extend that many people want Anita Among and some of the MPs implicated in the saga be jailed to Luzira maximum prison to serve as a lesson to some of the corrupt leaders in parliament.

KAMPALA, UGANDA — At least 24 Members of Parliament tightly aligned with the embattled former Speaker, Anita Annet Among, are reportedly enduring sleepless nights as a massive anti-corruption dragnet closes in on her legislative inner circle.
The panic follows sweeping summonses issued by the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID). The directives require the lawmakers to report to the Kibuli headquarters between Monday and Tuesday to record statements regarding high-profile financial crimes.
Luzira Looming?
Legal experts and intelligence sources hint that several of the targeted legislators face immediate processing for charges related to illicit enrichment, money laundering, and concealment of proceeds of crime.
“The evidence gathered from the weekend residential raids is overwhelming,” a source close to the investigation revealed. “Many of these MPs could find themselves remanded to Luzira Maximum Security Prison before the week ends.”
Public Demands Border Closures:
The political crisis has ignited fierce public outrage. Angry citizens across Uganda are demanding immediate travel bans for all legislators implicated in the multibillion-shilling corruption scandal.
Public anger is specifically targeting lawmakers who actively endorsed and heavily campaigned for Among’s controversial legislative maneuvers. Citizens are loudly petitioning the CDF Gen.Muhoozi kainerugaba /Ministry of Internal Affairs and foreign embassies to confiscate passports, freeze international travel visas, and impose strict blockades to prevent the under-fire politicians from fleeing the country.
High-Stakes Interrogations Begin:
The CID headquarters in Kibuli has been placed under heavy security as high-stakes interrogation sessions is ongoing on the embattled AAA and her allies.
Detectives are loaded with seized financial transaction logs, corporate registry records, and electronic data including the one for parliamentary SACCO transaction record. It is alleged that most of the legislators are sweating plasma ahead of the investigation. CID are alleged to be ready 24/7 and are prepared to question the 24 lawmakers about their alleged roles as financial fronts and proxy managers for Among’s vast real estate and commercial business empire are being exposed hourly.
Some voters want president Museveni to jail any one implicated in the multi-billion scandal to go to Luzira for at least two years hence, a call for by-election in Bukedea and any other affected constituency where the embattled alleged corrupt MPs come from.
Some electorates in Acholi sub-region say they will declare vote of no-confidence and call for a by-election where an MP will be remanded for engazing in the alleged dubious multi-billion corruption scheme of AAA.
