Kole ,Uganda-June 19, 2026: Residents of Kole North constutuency in Kole District located in Lango Sub-Region, have commended MP Hon. Dr. Samuel Opio Acuti for lobbying MTN Uganda to construct five masts in Kole North Constituency.
The five (5) new masts have been erected at Okwerodot, Aboke and Alito town council with a breakdown of one in Okwerodot Sub county, two in Aboke sub county, one in Alito town Council and one in Aboke town Council hence boosting network coverage in areas that previously had poor connectivity.
Tom Odyeny Richard, a 54- year-old man and a landowner who donated land for the mast at Lwala Parish, Okwerodot Sub-county, said the area previously had only one MTN mast in the entire constituency but as of now through the effort of MP Dr. Samuel Opio Acuti, the net work connectivity is better than the previous days.
Nelson Tike, a bicycle spare parts dealer in Alito Town Council, said business is now booming and made more easier than ever before.
“I can now order spare parts from Lira City using WhatsApp. In the past, poor network made communication hard,” he said.
Ogwang Patrick of Acungulyec, Aboke Town Council, said residents are now buying smartphones because both voice calls and internet are clear.
Alito Sub-county LC3 Chairperson Tom Olet and LC1 Chairperson Ogwang Martin commended the MP for acting on a community petition from 4,000 constituents.
LC1 chairman Moses Obak of Awili village and others who spoke to our reporter from Alito town council said they had raised complaints about poor network for years before signing the petition that was delivered to MTN office through MP Acuti.

In an exclusive interview, Hon. Opio Acuti said he submitted a petition to MTN signed by 4,000 constituents residents of Okwerodot, Alito and Aboke demanding better network under Corporate Social Responsibility.
“MTN responded by constructing three network boosters with the last one being constructed at Aboke town council where construction work by MTN telecommunication company is ongoing up to date,” he said.
