MINISTER LILLIAN ABER DELIVERS MUSEVENI’S UGX5M SUPPORT TO GULU ACCIDENT VICTIMS.

GULU–The Minister of state for Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees, Hon. Lillian Aber on delivered financial support from President Yoweri Museveni to victims of the OPIT TRAVELERS bus accident in Gulu.
The handover was made on behalf of the President as part of government’s immediate relief response to families affected by the crash that occurred at Bobi recently..
According to the presidential directive delivered by Minister Aber:
- UGX 5,000,000 was handed to each family of the deceased
- UGX 1,000,000 was handed to each survivor who sustained injuries in the accident
The Minister said the support is intended to help bereaved families with burial arrangements and to assist survivors with medical bills as they recover.
“This is President Museveni’s immediate response to stand with the people of Gulu in this time of grief. Government remains committed to supporting you,” Aber told the families.
The accident claimed several lives and left many others injured.
Government teams from the Office of the Prime Minister, Ministry of Health, and local authorities remain on ground to coordinate further support including medical care and psychosocial services.
“May the souls of the departed rest in peace, and a quick recovery to the survivors,” Minister Aber said.
The OPIT TRAVELERS bus was involved in the fatal crash on a major road in Gulu, drawing condolences from leaders across the region.
