Deputy Head of RDC secretariat Sr. Dr. Grace Akiror, Senior Gov’t Officials, Inspect Projects in Soroti City.

SOROTI, UGANDA: A joint government monitoring team led by State House Deputy Head of the RDC Secretariat, Sr. Dr. Grace Akiror, and Senior Presidential Advisor on Research, Dr. Daniel Ssekibobo, on Monday, August 11, 2026 conducted an inspection of government projects in Soroti City.
The team assessed the implementation and impact of programs in health, education, roads, water and sanitation, and economic empowerment.
The inspection was carried out alongside Soroti City Resident City Commissioner, City Internal Security Officer, Deputy RCC Soroti City West, all Assistant RCCs, Town Clerk, heads of departments, City Mayor and Division Mayors.
Speaking after the exercise, to the media, Deputy RCC Soroti City West, Mr. Kyomya James, said the team covered various sites across the city to establish progress and challenges.
“We monitored a series of government programs and projects throughout the entire city in the fields of Health projects, Educational projects, Roadworks, Water and Sanitation, and Economic empowerment projects including success stories,” Kyomya said.
Appreciation to government
DRDC Kyomya commended government for continued investment in service delivery, saying the projects have improved livelihoods of residents.
“Thanks to His Excellency the President for the great fundamental development in the different fields that have continued to improve on the livelihood of our people,” he said.
Commissioner James concluded with: “Long live Gen. (Rtd) Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Long live Uganda.”
Officials said the joint monitoring by the RDC Secretariat and Office of the President is part of efforts to ensure accountability, value for money, and timely delivery of government services at local government level.
Findings from the inspection are expected to inform policy guidance and support supervision to city authorities.
