Alebtong Deputy RDC Mathias Lutwama Cautioned Teachers Against Absenteeism Ahead of Term III Opening.

Alebtong – The Deputy Resident District Commissioner for Alebtong, Mathias Lutwama, has cautioned teachers against absenteeism, late-coming and extorting money from parents.
Mr. Lutwama made the remarks on Friday morning during an exclusive interview with our reporter.
He said headteachers and classroom teachers, especially those handling candidate classes, should report early and be present at all times to improve performance of candidate classes in line with the education policy.
He urged local leaders to mobilize children to return to school as Term III begins on Monday, September 14, 2026.
Lutwama said he will personally monitor schools in both Moroto and Ajuri county respectively and take action against issues affecting attendance and retention, including extortion, hiking fees in government-aided schools among others.
He warned that his office will not tolerate parents keeping children at home and some schools overcharging USE and UPE students or pupils.
The Deputy RDC Alebtong called for cooperation among teachers, parents and the district to improve service delivery in term of quality education.
