RDC Muluga Delivers on Sanitation Promise as Soroti Schools Get Modern Latrines.

Soroti–Soroti Resident District Commissioner, Hajj Imran Muluga, has been lauded for championing improved sanitation and inclusive education after commissioning five modern pit latrines in schools across the district.
Muluga, working together with the District Chairperson, Chief Administrative Officer and technical staff, on September 9, 2026, led a supervision and commissioning exercise in the three constituencies of Soroti, to assess the quality of the facilities and hand them over to the school communities.
Each of the five-stance latrines was constructed at a cost of Shs25m and fitted with modern facilities, including disability-friendly access and incinerators for safe disposal of sanitary materials for menstruating girls.
Speaking during the handover, Muluga said the project is a clear demonstration of government’s commitment to inclusive education, health and sanitation.
“Sanitation is an essential component of education. Providing appropriate facilities for girls and learners with disabilities is critical to promoting equitable and inclusive education,” Muluga said, urging schools to properly use and maintain the facilities as valuable public assets.
School Management Committees, parents and learners praised the RDC for his hands-on supervision and for ensuring quality work and timely completion.
They said the facilities will greatly improve learner welfare and encourage more parents to send their children to school, especially girls and children with disabilities, and pledged to take full responsibility for maintenance.
District leaders commended Muluga for his effective coordination with the technical team and school communities to deliver the project successfully.
