MP Kenny Auma to set up vocational institution in Kwania.

KWANIA, UGANDA-November 30, 2025: Kwania District Woman Member of Parliament Kenny Auma has revealed plan to establish a vocation training Institute to offer free vocational skills to the lesson privileged.
In 2021, MP Auma established 11 tailoring centers across all Sub counties and town councils in Kwania to train teenage mothers who were impregnated during the induced Covid-19 lockdown.
Under the project dubbed “Kenny Auma’s Skilling Initiative, more than 3,000 teenage mothers acquired the six months vocation training skills.
Addressing a rally at Bung-Gudu trading center, Ajok Parish in Inomo Sub County on Saturday, Auma Kenny said she had already procured land to establish a vocational school to cater for both the boy and the girl child.

“We want to teach our young generation practical skills so that they do not find hardship of looking for jobs. With my counterpart Bob Okae, we shall open a vocational institute that will train the youths all vocational courses ranging from tailoring, motorbike mechanics, Wood work technologies and others,”she said.
She said that the hands on skills will help the youth to be able to create their own jobs and employ others.
“If the youth can be able to start their own jobs, it means the burden on parents and the community is lessened. This will also help them plan from their future based on the skills their have acquired,”she added.

Bob Okae, Kwania North County Member of ParliKent revealed that currently there is a mismatch of job opportunities in the country and that the vocational skills the youth will acquire will help address the imbalance.
“Vocational skilling is the way to go that is why we have agreed to open a vocational institute,”MP Okae told his supporters, while on a campaign trail in Inomo on Saturday.
Okae highlighted his achievements during his four years in Parliament. He said he procured an ambulance, took cancer screening service to his people bought red plastic chairs for community events, wide support to churches and the Village Saccos and legislated on the floor of Parliament on key issues affecting his voters.
Stop relying on government programs
Okae Bob, blasted his competitors to stop relying on government programs as campaign tools to solicit votes.
“Some people are claiming that they are repairing boreholes with connection from the UPDF. Parliament appropriated money and allocated to UPDF Engineering Brigade to repair boreholes that shouldn’t be some one’s campaign tool,”he warned.
Patrick Ogwang Obia, UPC flag bearer for Kwania District LCV Chairperson’s race pledges to fight corruption in the district to improve service delivery.
“While serving as the district councillor. I witnessed to challenges that I intend to fix once elected the district chairman. That is paying bribes to access government programs and sindicate corruption between some civil servants and the political heads that has crippled service delivery at the district,”Ogwang said, pledging to open Bung-Gudu to Ongica road, once elected the district chair on January, 15, 2025.
Akao Caroline Kule, Inomo Sub County LC3 Chairperson who is veying for Inomo Sub County LCV Councilor pledged to push for road rehabilitation, upgrade of Aninolal HCII to HCIII status, rehabilitation of delaoidated classroom’s, and push for drilling of more boreholes to address the acute water crisis in the area.
