Kumi NRM Woman MP candidate Hon. Monicah Amoding intensifes her final push for victory ahead of 2026B

KUMI, UGANDA – December 30, 2025: With just two weeks remaining before the 2026 general elections, political fever continues to rise in Kumi District, as supporters of the Woman Member of Parliament (WMP) candidate Monicah Amoding intensify their final push for victory. Under vibrant campaign banners and in spirited community gatherings, messages of unity, hope, and political resolve are echoing across Teso sub-region.
“Let’s all be reminded—for the good of Kumi, Monicah Amoding is the answer,” declared a local mobilizer during a morning rally in Kumi Town earlier this week. “Let’s join our support, and we finish this game. The victory is already smelling on our side come 15, January , 2026.”
Amoding, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) flagbearer for the Kumi Woman MP seat 2026-2031, has campaigned on the manifesto of continuity, development, and youth empowerment, wealth creation and protecting the gains. Her message resonates with many voters who credit the current administration with notable infrastructure growth and service delivery improvements in education, healthcare, and road networks.
“No doubt. No pressure,” read one slogan chanted by supporters dressed in the party’s signature yellow “Come 15th, January 2026, vote Gen.Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, vote Monicah Amoding, then wait for the services we need in the 12th parliament of Uganda .”
The reference to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni—whose re-election bid continues to get support and endorsement massively in the NRM campaign nationwide—underscores the party’s strategy of linking parliamentary victories to broader national progress. Supporters argue that electing Amoding is not just a local choice but a vote for preserving and expanding the “gains” achieved under the NRM-led government.
Campaign activities in Kumi have included community dialogues, door-to-door outreach, and early morning mobilization drives—particularly targeting women, youth and all the voters. “This is about protecting what we’ve built together,” said Agnes , a community leader in Kumi District. “Monicah has listened to our concerns. She’s delivered in education and health before. We want that momentum to continue.”
Amoding has pledged to fast-track maternal healthcare programs, increase bursary access for underprivileged students, invest in agricultural modernization, improve roads and education as key priorities for the area.
As polling day on January 15, 2025 draws closer, campaign jingles echo through town streets and radio stations, and posters of Amoding adorn market centers and major junctions. The slogan “PROTECTING THE GAINS” has become a rallying cry for NRM supporters, symbolizing both pride in past achievements and a determination to continue on the current path.
With political enthusiasm at its peak, Kumi District stands poised to play a pivotal role in the broader electoral landscape of the Teso region. One thing is certain: the final two weeks of campaigning will be decisive.
“Beautiful morning, Teso. Much more, Kumi,” read a popular greeting among supporters—reflecting not just a campaign slogan, but a shared vision for the days ahead.
