NALI, KYANKWANZI — April, 10 2026: As the NRM parliamentary retreat enters its fourth day, the Vice Chairperson of the NRM Karamoja Region, Hon. Lokii John Baptist, has expressed real satisfaction with the high level of engagement, describing it as the “master key” to unlocking wealth creation in Uganda.
Speaking from the National Leadership Institute (NALI) on Friday, April 10, 2026, Hon. Lokii noted that the retreat has taken a “better shape,” with legislators diving deep into the core pillars of socio-economic transformation.
Hailing the NRM Leadership:
Hon. Lokii lauded the NRM leadership under President Yoweri Museveni for organizing what he termed a “fruitful and timely” induction. He emphasized that for regions like Karamoja, the lessons on governance and wealth creation are essential for bridging development gaps.
“I am happy with the level of interesting engagement here. Socio-economic transformation is key for wealth creation, and everything is going on well as we align our vision for the 12th Parliament,” Lokii said.
Packed Agenda: ‘Musevenomics’ Takes Centre Stage
Day four of the retreat features a rigorous program designed to sharpen the ideological clarity of the lawmakers. Key sessions are focused on “Musevenomics”—the President’s economic philosophy—and the critical role of infrastructure as a primary driver of socio-economic growth.
The legislators are also slated to discuss the role of the National Executive Committee (NEC) in national development and engage in a legal discourse on the Constitution, with a specific emphasis on the separation of powers.
Experience Sharing:
The day’s activities will culminate in an evening of dinner interaction and experience-sharing, allowing seasoned legislators to mentor newly elected MPs on parliamentary etiquette and effective representation.
The week-long retreat, continues to draw high-profile presentations from cabinet ministers and senior party technocrats.
