Obua Rallies Acholi, Lango, and West Nile for Massive Kololo MK 52nd Birthday Run.

Kampala, Uganda: April 25, 2026: The Government Chief Whip and NRM National Vice Chairperson for Northern Uganda, Hon. Denis Hamson Obua, has confirmed that mobilisers and supporters from across the Acholi, Lango, and West Nile sub-regions will descend upon Kampala for the Gen. MK Birthday Run.
The charity event, scheduled for Sunday, April 26, 2026, will take place at the Kololo Ceremonial Grounds under the theme “Run for Hope.”
Hon. Obua, who recently secured participation kits from the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) secretariat, noted that the run’s theme deeply resonates with Northern Uganda’s journey from conflict to a future of resilience.
“Every step in this run symbolizes our progress—from pain to healing, and from despair to opportunity,” Obua shared in a celebratory message to the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
Event Details:
- Venue: Kololo Ceremonial Grounds (Independence Grounds).
- Time: Set-off is at 6:00 AM.
- Chief Runner: General Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
- Purpose: Raising funds for babies’ homes and child welfare awareness across Uganda.
The run is expected to draw thousands of participants in a show of patriotism and fitness. Obua, a seasoned legislator and party leader, emphasized that the NRM fraternity in the North remains a “political centre of gravity” in supporting such national initiatives.
As the region’s top party official, Obua’s mobilization is seen as a key effort to consolidate NRM gains in Northern Uganda.
