NORTH KYOGA POLICE ISSUED STATEMENT ON SUDDEN DEATH REGISTERED AT DOKOLO CENTRAL POLICE.

The Territorial Police in North Kyoga Region, Dokolo District, are investigating a case of sudden death registered at Dokolo Central Police Station.

On the 24th of April 2026 ,bat about 13:30 hours, a report was received from D/AIP Oculi Tom Robson, a police officer attached to Dokolo CPS, regarding the sudden death of Detective CPL Galandi Faizal, a 41-year-old male adult and resident of the police barracks.

According to North Kyoga police  PRO SP Patrick Jimmy Okema, it is alleged that concern arose after the deceased was not seen throughout the morning hours and did not respond from his room. The reporter, together with DC Okello Bonny, proceeded to the room and, upon forcefully gaining entry, discovered his lifeless body lying face down inside.

The matter was immediately reported and managed accordingly while a DEF has been registered to support inquiries.
The scene was visited and documented, and the body was conveyed to Lira Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem examination. Statements have since been recorded from relevant witnesses to support ongoing investigations.

Preliminary findings indicate that the deceased had been battling an eye-related illness alongside other health complications and had been receiving treatment under the Police Directorate of Health Services at Mulago National Referral Hospital.

Inquiries are ongoing, and further updates will be provided in due course aa police offer  deepest condolences to the family of the deceased.
