Obongi, Uganda: Members of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) across the Madi sub-region are joining the rest of the country today, Sunday, April 26, 2026, for a massive charity run to celebrate the 52nd birthday of General Muhoozi Kainerugaba (MK).
The “Run for Hope” in the Madi sub-region is being held simultaneously in the districts of Adjumani, Moyo, Obongi, and Yumbe, and it kicked off at 7:00 AM.
Speaking on behalf of the PLU regional coordination office, Manga Charles emphasized that the event is more than a birthday celebration; it is a symbol of togetherness and social responsibility.
“The birthday run serves as a broader symbol of togetherness within the PLU community. It offers a unique opportunity to reflect on collective identity and the power of community,” Manga noted.
The event’s primary focus is charitable. Proceeds from the participation kits, priced at UGX 20,000, will be directed toward local initiatives and babies’ homes across Uganda to improve the welfare of vulnerable children.
Promoting Health and Inclusivity
Beyond charity, the run is a call for physical well-being. Participants of all fitness levels—from experienced runners to casual walkers—are encouraged to join to strengthen communal bonds and improve personal health.
Across the country, the main event is being held at the Kololo Independence Grounds in Kampala, where General Muhoozi is leading as the Chief Runner. The nationwide drive has seen significant support, for Gen MK.
RDC Obongi Hasaka Mpimbaza Samuel praised Gen. Mk for being a discplined, leader with intergrity. Residents in the Madi sub-region were encouraged to lace up their shoes and join the nearest district run to support local charity projects.
