The member of Parliament Obongi County Hon Kaps Hassan Fungaroo survived lyncing after a team of leaders and wanainchi from Yumbe district allegedly accused him of evicting customary land owners and forcefully constructing toilets in their land.
The incident took place during an inter-district security meeting for Yumbe and Obongi district held in the disputed land between Yumbe and Obongi.
The residents and leaders from Yumbe who allegedly wanted to lynch the Obongi MP were led by the Speaker Yumbe district local government Rt Hon.Aguku Samadu who directly confronted Kaps Hassan Fungaroo and told him that he was going to beat him for grabbing land and misusing his title as an MP.
They also accused him for using one of his relatives to evict people and is alleged to be threatening them .
The Yumbe speaker Aguku Samadu told Fungaroo that enough enough of his nonsense of threatening people.
By press time when contacted for comment by our reporters Hon Fangaroo did not answer our repeated phone calls.
Some.mbers if fge cpmmujuty who talked to Tayari News Uganda urged government to intervene in the matter to resolve the dispute amicably.
