
Pader Woman MP-Elect Lowila Oketayot Expresses Gratitude Amid NRM Landslide Victory

PADER, UGANDA — In a heartfelt message to the people of Pader District, newly elected Woman Member of Parliament Lowila CD Oketayot, also the National Resistance Movement (NRM) District Chairperson, hailed a historic mandate for the ruling party and pledged unwavering service to her constituents. Speaking following the announcement of general election results, Oketayot expressed deep appreciation for the overwhelming support NRM candidates received, including President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Members of Parliament, local leaders, and herself.
“First of all, as the NRM District Chairperson, I extend my utmost appreciation to the people of Pader for joining hands and unprecedentedly voting for NRM flagbearers at all levels. This is a testament to your trust in our vision for our district,” Oketayot stated during a public address in Pader. She emphasized that the landslide victory, which saw the NRM retain control of all key positions, reflects a shared commitment to progress and stability.
As the elected Woman MP,Hon.Lowila CD Oketayot vowed to prioritize critical development sectors. “I commit to work selflessly for the people of Pader, focusing on road infrastructure, education, health services, women and youth empowerment, and broader socio-economic transformation,” she declared. The leader reiterated her pledge to uphold accountability, integrity, and unity, stating, “I will be your true voice in parliament, advocating for the needs of every community.”
The MP-elect also extended a message of reconciliation and collaboration. “I thank all who contested, campaigned honorably, and accepted the people’s voice. I earnestly request that we join hands for a better Pader,” Oketayot said, urging defeated candidates to contribute constructively to governance.

Her remarks came amid widespread celebrations in the district, where voters welcomed her victory as a sign of continued development. She called on citizens to maintain momentum, encouraging active participation in the remaining local elections. “Be keen to vote for NRM flagbearers and ensure we continue this legacy of progress,” she added.
Closing her address, ‘Mego’ CD Oketayot expressed gratitude for the trust placed in her and reaffirmed her dedication to service. “For God and my country, I will strive to make Pader thrive,” she concluded.
