Obongi District Joins 2026 Cancer Run: ARDC Komakech Obina was Recognised as Chief Runner.

OBONGI – Leaders, civil servants and members of the business community in Obongi District at the weekend joined the rest of the country in the 2026 Cancer Run to raise awareness and support the fight against cancer.
The Assistant Resident District Commissioner (ARDC) for Obongi, Komakech Robert Obina, was delegated by the Senior RDC, Ms. Eva Kwesiga, to represent the RDC’s office at the run.
The event was graced by the Woman Member of Parliament for Obongi District, Hon. Harriet Joyo, who served as the Chief Runner.


The exercise attracted a wide range of stakeholders, including district leadership, civil servants, the business community, civil society organisations and other well-wishers.
Obina was recognised with a Certificate of Appreciation for his participation as Guest Runner.
He commended the organisers and all stakeholders for coming together to support the fight against cancer, noting that through awareness, early detection, prevention and collective support, they can make a meaningful contribution towards reducing the burden of cancer in communities.
